AGM Time: 3pm – Thurs 6th Aug 2026
Each year around August, the family members get together for the AGM of the Hassall Family History Assoication. This is mostly a formal event to meet the obligations of being an association, and for a few years during COVID was held online only. For 2026, the committee will endeavour to get together in person in Sydney on the 5th Aug for the meeting. This event will coincide with the Research meetings held during the same week.
Program for 2026 Sydney Research Meeting and Annual General Meeting :
The Committee is putting much effort into strengthening our understanding of family-related materials held at the State Library of New South Wales, the Royal Australian Historical Society, and the Colonial Records held in the NSW Government Archives, and the forthcoming Sydney Research Meeting and AGM provides an opportunity for members to join this adventure.
Tuesday 4th August
All day – research at SLNSW – researchers to register for the day to be supplied with list of research collections with Hassall family content – selected materials to be ordered in advance and ready on the day. Possibly book a research room to start the day and also meet up at lunch.
Wednesday 5th August

Introduction to Hassall, Betts and Marsden materials in RAHS Library - Session 2: 12pm – 2pm – at SLNSW (Michael Crouch Room)
“Show and tell” – Jane Miura, Clair Castle and others (participants encouraged to bring historical materials and artifacts to show) - Session 3: 2pm – 3.30pm at SLNSW (Sir William Dixson Research Library)
