Mary was born in Australia in 1799 – one of the early children of the Colony. She married Rev Walter Lawry and they moved to a number of different places in the early 1820s. First to New Zealand, then Tonga. They returned briefly to Sydney, and then went to England in 1824. Sadly, Mary died there giving birth. She is buried at the Holy Trinity Church, St Anstell, Cornwall.
